Many 3PLs are caught between a rock and a hard place, starting with relentless pressure from customers for lower costs and continuous improvement.
Shippers wishing 3PLs would get more strategic and innovative? There's lots of that too, yet shippers are often reluctant to share the information needed to really deliver that value.
And despite substantial investments in supply chain technology by many 3PLs, shippers often still perceive their IT capabilities as lacking, and 3PLs themselves frequently struggle to accurately measure profitability by customer.
A rock and a hard place indeed.
We discuss all this and more with Prashant Bhatia, a Vice President at JDA Software, in this interesting Thought Leaders video exchange. Based in part on the new e-Book from JDA that summarizes a recent survey of third-party logistics providers.
