Several interesting trends are emerging with regard to "Supply Chain Performance Management."
First, more and more companies are adopting "dashboards" (more real time in nature) in addition to scorecards, which are more backward looking.
Second, in part a result of this trend, the concepts of supply chain performance management and supply chain visibility are starting to merge, especially with regard to technology offerings.
Third, the technology just keeps getting better.
Below is one such example, using the "Control Tower" application from Viewlocity. It was first used by SCDigest as an example in our recent Supply Chain Digest Letter on performance management. In our view, the tools for visibility and performance management have become highly robust. The real challenge now is to undestand how to really leverage all this information.
